Almost any of the ones involving WDisasm32 or IDA can be carried out on the program while it's running.

The quickest and dirtiest way is to simply BPX GetDriveTypeA.

A good place to look is either old Fravias Site or http://cdchecks.cjb.net

I ofcourse recomend my tutorial on Thief <grin>
