I recently installed softice 4.05 for win 2K.It is the latest version.The shortcut that it creates on the desktop points to a bat file.This bat file contains the following command : net start ntice.When it runs it produces the following error : 'net' is not recognized as an internal or external command,operable program or batch file.Any ideas?

Change the startup to be at 'boot' time (you can press 'ESC'
if you don't want to load SI)

START/Programs/numega softice/startup mode selection

If SI don't load then you have a problem.
Re-install.
