well, at least for me, the crashes when trying to load a program are gone (running Win98SE)
sadly, this seems to be the last icedump we'll see in the near future.
anyway, big regards to the owl and g-rom (and all others for taking time to fix this final release.

regards,
bsod

I was just going to post that. Thanks for stealing my thunder . According to them it was an NASM bug.

The Owl said and I quote
"and this time tested too ;P, thanks to G-RoM for both. lesson learnt, don't use latest version of your tools for building stable releases ;-). at least we have a test case to reproduce a nasm bug, yet another thing to fix... "

And the IceDump homepage contains:
"UPDATE: apparently nasm 0.98.35 is not stable yet, please redownload icedump if you got it before 2002.09.29 18:45 GMT "

So everyone go redownload and throw away your old versions finally a stable release. Though I had some luck with it before. I think extending the functionality of IceDump is in order too I was thinking of something with MSRs.

Hello bsod !

Now it works fine, even for me.

It's a good feeling to see that your own source code works and the compiler/assembler you're using is responsible for your program crashes, not you.

Do you mean something beyond /RDMSR and /WRMSR or the native MSR in DS 2.7?
