Hello,

h**p://tsehp.cjb.net (h**p://go.to/tsehp) may be also a good
place for more general information on the subject...

A very good place for the complete newbie is at "#Cracking4Newbies " which you will find at
http://c4nfaq.cjb.net/ . It provides a good overview of some things you need to start learning and definitions of terns you will come across. It is also available is several languages.

Also look at the bottom of this page. There you will find links to some of the site already mentioned and places to acquire some of the earlier versions of tools you might need. One of the most important things you will eventually need to learn is how to SEARCH. Once you master this skill, you will be able to find most of the tools and information you need to advance your skill level.

Also pay attention to the "Search" button at the top of the Forums. It can lead you to a great deal of information on most of the subjects you would be interested in. Patience is one of the other things you will need as you start out. There is a great deal to learn BEFORE you jump into the most difficult projects. Start with something easy and take the time to learn about the basics of the craft.

Also you might want to check out a thread in the Unpacking forum from 12-2001, started by matthew with the title "A good starting point." Go to the search page, put "a good starting point" on the left side and "JMI" on the right side under username. For some reason "Matthew" doesn't work, maybe because he is no longer a member. There you will find some good leads to information that will help you get started.

Good luck.

Regards.

I strongly recommend FRAVIA's (see the bottom home page of this site) old site and his beginning cracking tutorials, followed by a liberal dose of crackz's site (ditto). It will be a long strange trip for you!

The road you want to take is long grasshopper, patience is required to learn.

May the force be with you.
