View Full Version : Why is the Fravia mirror redirect URL point to this board?

Does anyone know why the redirector URL to Tsehp's "Last Fravia Mirror" (http://tsehp.cjb.net) nowadays points to this board instead of the correct URL (http://www.woodmann.net/fravia/index.htm)?

This board already has its own redirector (http://fraviamb.cjb.net), which is still working fine, and the Tsehp redirector URL is even listed below as a link to the Fravia mirror?!

What's up with that?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm........

Perhaps it is an oversight ?
We will have to wait for the owner of the redirectors
to make the needed changes.

Ok, thanks.
I thought it might be a mistake at first, but since it's been like that at least since the server move I thought that someone else than me would have noticed. Well, trust noone I guess.

Err, now someone has changed both the above redirectors to point at the Microsoft website? Joke, or something else?

Ok, I'm sad that you're having trouble with the hosting of the board. I pray that it will still be around anyway, because I really love this board and all the knowledgeable and nice people on it!

Btw, may I ask why you are using this "test22" account instead of your own? It was a very long time since I last saw you post on the board with your own account, I sometimes even think that you are about to leave/quit. So I was very worried when the woodmann server was down the other day. Please drop by now and again and show us, the weak of faith, that you're still alive and kicking.

Thanks for your efforts in making this board survive!
(and all you other admins and moderators too)

hi,
the test22 account was used because I was on vacations and only had little time to work, now everything back to normal.

I'm still here, but now I've got less time than before, lots of things in my life changed (I'm in an engineer computer school a3rd year now), so I restrain now to be the administrator of the server, helping woodmann and other moderators to maintain it and move it fast in case of our host don't please us anymore (never the opposite ;-)

In the near future, meaning the 4 and 5 year of my studies, I could bring surely new additionnal directions of this site, just because the school have a security and virus department, but the section that will be built will surely oriented to know them better and secure a system against them, we have some challenges and machines to hack and attack in our school for this purposes, so I have some ideas to bring there in a near future, if I manage to get assistance on this fact, we will have lots of fun.

I wouldn't say that I never had the idea to quit, but woodmann and me are too close to let everything down like this, the place took a long time to build, so in the case we abandon it this will be a double decision but it's out of question actually.

thanks a lot, to ask, I'm still available to everyone on my usual mail if someone wants to get news.

best regards,

tsehp

Thanks for the info Tsehp, I feel much better now, phew.

And really cool to hear about the ideas for the new areas of the board! Computer security and viruses are both big interests of mine, and I have relatively much experience in both areas (let's just keep it at that, shall we ). It also feels like it's "closing the circle" regarding the subjects of the board, since they are all very related. But just like you say, it would probably be very important to keep it at a "professional level" though, just like this board has succeeded so very good with for the current areas, or some people will surely try to take their first chance to use it to shut the board down. Anyway, I would be glad to help in any way I can with these potential new areas of the board (or the current areas too of course if the workload is already too high). See my mail for more info.

Respectfully,
dELTA

PS. The tsehp relocator is down again.
