Does anyone know of a tutorial that shows how to unpack files without softice?

Hmm your question is a little bit tricky.
I guess you mean unpacking with only a deadlisting at hand.
If thats correct you will have problems. You see, the program needs to be unpacked so that you can dump the unpacked program. You dont get much out of looking at the packed program in a disassembler.
Hope that helped. I'm far from an expert so dont rely to much on this one.

It is possible to unpack without softice, using unpacking utilities such as ProcDump, but I would advise against it, cos you are denying yourself the chance to learn how the protection code works!
