Win32dasm is an excellent, easy-to-use disassembler, but it hasn't been updated in soooo long (since the late 90s) ... does anyone here know why? or what happened to the author?

It hasn't been updated because nobody, including probably you, paid for it and it was extensively warez and the authors probably got tired of working for nothing. Then again maybe it was always "fee" and they just got tired of working on it.

Regards.

onebitshort: If your searching for a replacement, I can recommend IDA. You can download the free version from many websites. Datarescue used to host it themselves, but I think the bandwidth it was taking up eventually got too much for them.

Sure, it's not got everything the latest retail version has, but it's adequate for most people.

Hi people
Maybe the author didn't do any more work about it, but go to
protools.cjb.net and get the patches and other files that Harlequin, Lazarus, Cold Coder and Death made for w32dasm.
It worth to try them !!
You can find them neerby the link to w32dasm home(broken link), at the Decompilers section.

What patches are people using on w32dasm? I found so many patches, but it was hard to find one that did it all. So far I've liked the w32dism++ , but it seems it really doesn't have support for VB 5,6 like I've seen on other patches. I'm just looking if there's a patch that does it all.
