have uninstalled si 3.24 and installed 4.01 and am still having lock up trouble. when si window opens, lose mouse control and command keys. only known exit is reboot. can someone please help me?

yes, i tried your suggestions from my last post but it did not help. that's when i decided to uninstall 3.24 and install 4.01 in an attempt to see if it was just the ver. of si i was tryint to use, ver. 4.01 installed easily and started fine with ctrl-d then f5 to drop back to win but when i open a program to use si with, then hit ctrl-d si opens but mouse and command keys are history. i have searched the web for hours and have consulted hundreds tutorials and faqs. i have tried every suggestion, including yours that i could find and nothing works. do you think this could be a software issue with my type of pc (hewlett packard pre-loaded w/windows 9x)? thanks

Hi tinman,

Sorry to hear about the problems. It is unlikely that they are due to a software issue with your OS. Nevertheless, you could try to reformat and install SI on a clean hd (though I know its probably a less than desirable course of action). Also, have you considered possible hardware incompatiblity problems with SI for your keyboard and mouse ? If you have easy access to another keyboard / mouse of a generic variety I'd try plugging them in and see what happens...
Admittedly a no brainer solution but you never know.
