Hi
Of the little I have been able to find about E-mail Hacking, I have come across the mention of Brute Force.
Could someone tell me more about Brute Force and how can I go about it and how reliable is it.
THANX A TON

Let's say you need a password, or perhaps a serial number.
A brute force attack means you start "guessing" all posibilities until you hit the right one. Doing it by hand can be, well, boring. There are programs that do the combination and typing for you. CAIN comes to mind.
If the password or serial you are attacking is long enough, it may take a few million years to find the right combination, in such cases brute force is not desirable.
Also, most programs limit the number of trials to 3 or so and then lock up to discourage such practices. Moreover, if you try a brute force attack over the net You will be detected almost for sure.
