oki, i always used to have my softice (DS 2.7) under w2k/sp3 in manual mode with my ATI Radeon 7500 64MB. and it worked absolutely fine without a glitch. today i wanted to be able to debug some drivers and put softice to load in boot mode. there were no problems, it loaded SIWVID, NTICE and went into my w2k desktop as usual. but voila, when i press Ctrl+D no reaction, then i find that the service ntice has started but there is no trace that softice is alive. i even tried a small proggie which GPFs so i thought i could bring up the ntice popup on faults, but nothing, normal windows error came up. so i guess ntice is not being loaded, but there were no error messages during bootup.

i am confused. has anyone experienced this kinda problem before ? or any solutions ?

awaiting a reply..

best regards
pasha

pasha, did you find that anywhere in the docs or on the SI website? I just spent 2 days unsuccessfully trying to get 2.7 to work on W2K SP3 under vmware. Finally I moved to visual SI 3.0.1, but I want to know if I could have saved a day of problems. Did I miss something in the docs that tells you 2.7 won't work with SP3?
