Most of us work with windows primarily, but I'm also interested in people's opinion of which version of Linux they prefer to use, or which one is easier to program and get programs for.

So far, my preference has been Mandrake Linux.

OH YEAH, well I just posted this post while running Suse Linux's Live Eval...which is cool 'cause its just a bootable CD which runs full fledged linux ! No installing required. Cool, no? Might be handy for those custom hacking jobs, and also possibly hacking into someone's system - I have XP and I can see all my hard drives....neat.

Check out Knoppix bootable CD, quite impressive.
Otherwise I prefer Debian, so I am one of those 0.63 % that voted other :-)

I like the Knoppix CD, I have been using it to work on windows box's that won't boot properly.

Well, I've loaded Mandrake on some unused space on my hard drive on my windows machine, and I can actually run IDA Pro and Hex Workshop and resource editors under Wine just fine However, I think I like the SuSe linux the best, but so far this has been working really nice. I like how Konqueror browser gives you a lot of control.

Even got Yahoo Messenger for Linux to work, so Im getting more used to this now, in fact, this post was made thru Konqueror.

Well if you like wine that much.. why not add support for some protections
I had a go at this a while ago.. sorta got SD to pass some checks, but never really finished it (short attention span).

Anyways.. I prefer Red Hat up to now.. probably because I have been using it for ages (ever since v4 or something)

BTW: if you want a messenger.. try Kopete from KDE (it will be part of 3.2). Supports most messenger formats.

BTW: if you like boot cd's.. check your local usenet mirror.. WinPE (Windows Preinstallation Environment) + alot of extra's (Ghost, Commander, ...) should be available.. so they tell me
