I personally left the "Orient" in 1972, but the war went on without me for three more years. We still lost, no matter how many times I tell the story.

Maybe Eval is interested in starting a private club for like minded people? Who can tell? So Eval are you "looking" for someone? I am advised that there are places on the Net where one can meet people of almost any "orient." Try searching, although I'm not sure "s_x-orient" would be helpful in that effort. Would you like us to start a "Personals" Forum here for you, so you could meet someone you would find is "norm"?

Maybe you should define what you mean by "norm." It's definately "not-norm" in this country and at this point in time that I could have been married longer than you have been alive. And although both parts of that statement are true, it doesn't really answer you question, does it.

Eval, if the need for definition of words in your posts would have similar implications regarding sexuality for all members of this board, we'd all be prancing around holding hands a loooong time ago I can tell you...

And I still can't understand where you're going with this, or why?

JMI
October 14th, 2003, 13:20
Why Eval, I have not "hung up my dreams on you." I don't dream about you at all. Whether or not you presume to answer your own question based upon speculation and assumption is of no importance to me and your privilege.

I asked you what "your" definition of "norm" is because you asked if "I" was "norm." "Norm" in that context is a subjective word based upon the questioner's point of view. To answer that question "I" need to know how "you" define "norm."

After all, you are the one who has chosen an avatar which is a little girl in pigtailes and a dress, watering flowers. Is this "your norm"? Should we "assume" from this that you are:

a: A little girl who likes to water flowers.
b: A young man whose "orient" is confused.
c: That you have poor taste in avatars.
d: That you have good taste in avatars.
e. Fond of the picture.

Or should we assume nothing at all, until we have "evidence" upon which to form a reasoned conclusion? What we can already conclude from the "evidence" is that "you" have some "issues" with "orient." That also is your privilege and your problem.

Regards.

evaluator
October 14th, 2003, 13:48
JMI,

With each post you look worse, increasing suspicions!
Now you (old man!?) try to interpret the little girl in sexual aspect!!
Hm!?????

deLTa,
wait little..

JMI
October 14th, 2003, 14:28
Eval:

Again you "project" your views on to others.

Where is the "sexual aspect" of describing the picture as "a little girl in pigtails and a dress, watering flowers?" I demonstrated "assumptions" that could (improperly) be made about "your" choice of the picture. Only "b." has a sexual aspect, but it was about “you,” not the “little girl.” That “sexual aspect” was that “you” (might be) "A young man whose "orient" is confused." That I suggest one could make (unsupported) assumptions that "you" might wish to be a little girl watering flowers has no “sexual aspect.” That I suggest one could make (unsupported) assumptions that "you" might like to think about wearing dresses, or have doubts about your masculinity does not relate to the little girl, other than “it was your choice” to “identify” yourself with that particular picture.

Your move. Assume some more and project what you will. Answering unfounded assumptions and allegations is what I do for a living. If you can call this living.

Nikolatesla20 posted the answer just before I got back from the post office, waving good-by to my hard earned money.

Bubbles, it is and we still do not have the answer from Eval as to why she was chosen as his avatar, which is a totally different question than whatever his "orient" might be. Heck, we don't even know why he prefers to compose dissonance music. Could he not be in "tune" with himself? Or is "he" a "she"?

Errrrrrrrrrrrr........

So we seem to have a few things in play here.

JMI's "orient" Oh shit.......I'll just say it, his sexual orientation.

Eval's choice of avatar.

Now, for some reason Eval questions JMI's sexual orientation
while JMI seems to have some kind of a "thing" for Eval's avatar.

I have no friggen idea how this thread wound up at this point.
I do know that JMI is married (to a woman), and a crusty old bastard.
I also know he loves his child/children. I know other things but
I do not think they have any bearing on his orientation.

Eval on the other hand, I know nothing about. I had heard a rumor
a few years ago that there was a very capable female reverser that
was a "regular" on the messageboard.
I am fairly confident it is NOT esther. Although I do not recall esther
ever offering an explanation as to that choice of a name, only that he
kept asking why everyone thought he was female

So, with that being said, this still makes no fucking sense

Hail to the female reversers !!!!

JMI
October 16th, 2003, 00:05
Well! Apparently I've been "outted" by Woodmann. I feel so "disoriented." I was beginning to fear Eval was about to label me homophobic. After all, I do live near San Francisco, where being married to a woman doesn't mean what it used to. And esther did have a motto which read "I'm a bitch" until I pointed out that implied "esther" WAS female.

And I don't have a "thing" for Eval's avatar, I only pointed out that it was an unusual choice for someone who might question someone else's "orient." Mostly I would assume it was age inappropriate.

I actually enjoy and admire Eval's cryptic efforts at humour in another language. My own in German and Vietnamese are not nearly as understandable. Mastery of the idiom is the most difficult part of language skills. Much of the time, if one only looks at the literal words, they make little sense.

I am reminded of a song from the movie "South Pacific," (from before most of you were born, when they actually had movies that were filled with singing) that illustrates that concept and fits with the general tenor of this silly thread. It was titled: "I'm gonna wash that man right out of my hair." (No it was sung by a woman.) Literally, the words make no logical sense, but English speaking people understand what it means. The same is true for all languages. The difficulty is in the translation from one to another.

Regardless what language Eval speaks, there is no question that Eval's skills at unpacking are definately "oriented." This take both skill and patience. Just like getting flowers to grow.

Regards.

P.S. to Wood: I have a copy of my parient's marriage license, and it was issued more than three years BEFORE I was born. nanner, nanner.

Does eval mean "at least try to identify [which reverser is a] girl"? "Bubbles" seems like too easy an answer (or at least an answer that won't keep the thread and paranoia going).

One of the advantages that Eval has at concealment of gender is the cryptic nature (and length) of Eval's posts. Since there is no entended comments, it is easier not to slip in what might tend to be gender identifying usage. It also helps that Eval is writing in a foreign language. At least to most of us.

nt20,

you guess PPG only using avatar or you look at another place?

Who is author of that phrase about cat?
(in my stupid re-re-transliation)

Q is for only nikolatesla20.

dELTA
October 16th, 2003, 07:38
Since Nikola answered the question to JMI, it seems only fair that I answer the question to him.

The phrase "It is difficult to catch a black cat in a dark room. Especially if there is no cat there." is said to originate from the philosopher Confucius. There is also a very known quote from Charles Darwin related to the same thing, but he stole the main idea from Confusius: "A mathematician is a blind man in a dark room looking for a black cat which isn't there".

After that the quote strealing got completely crazy, and people started to use this phrase to compare whatever professions they could think of, here follows some examples:

- Psychology is trying to find a black cat in a black room.
- Philosophy is trying to find a black cat in a black room where there is no cat.
- Psychoanalysis is finding a black cat in a black room where there is no cat.

- Definition of a scientist: Someone who looks for a black cat in a dark room.
- Definition of a philosopher: Someone who looks for a black cat in a dark room where there is no black cat.

- Software engineering is like looking for a black cat in a dark room.
- Systems engineering is like looking for a black cat in a dark room in which there is no cat.
- Knowledge engineering is like looking for a black cat in a dark room where there is no cat and someone yells, "I got it!".

I understand that is was also Confucious who is credited with saying: "Woman who put man in dog house, probably find him in cat house." But I was out of town when he/she was supposed to have said it, so I can't confirm on personal knowledge.

>>I don't know, some wise trollmaster or perhaps Confuscious
>>herself spoke those words once, and the parallels are frightening.

>i thought "wise trollmaster" is written about me.
>So?

Nah, the whole thing was meant as a joke and nothing more, the cartoon itself is amusing and it was directed at nobody. I have no interest in or reason for attacking you or anyone else. That you think that anyone here is, I would tend to give people the benefit of the doubt before making assumptions, especially in a light-hearted thread.

Castrated Confucious? Now why couldn't Conphucious have been a female? We all know they're wise, warm and wonderful (uh, and wet..). Maybe the grizzled old man with the fumanchu mustache that everyone pictures had a wife who was the brains behind the operation...

Kay, your explanations looks very poor.

Now You try to hide your wide and far-reaching attacking plans,
which you have developed together with deLTa.

>some wise trollmaster .. spoke those words once.
I spoke it here, so.. try better explanation!

I think Eval is just trying to get the view count up to 2000.

Maybe we could start wildly speculating as to the "real" meaning of the
***The A-of-D!*** Eval uses. I'll start off the first one:
***The Angel of Doom!***

***The A-of-D!!!***
(The Aod

ya, not bad idea.
also I can support this competition with prizes like unpacked MMDWMX or other..

So for start we need some restrictions:
1. one user can 1 try.
2. user must be well-known.
{x. user must be NOTEPAD!!! ;}

So, JMI & esther failed.
"A" means art, so one word you need to guess.

JMI

Now who said that Eval gets to make the rule of this contest. I specified that there should be "wild speculation" and there was no requirement that we actually figure out the "real" meaning. That would be contrary to the whole concept of "speculation."

But since Eval wants to play also I will add:

The Art of Deception!

and

The Art of Dissonance!!

Ignore Eval and his stinking rules. Try as often as you'd like.

Also I will NOT confirm, if rules-breaker guess!!

JMI

Well we aren't playing for your prize. We are playing for the love of the game.

And we also do not NEED you to confirm. WE will decide what it means. You will just have to live with OUR conclusion.

The Act of Defiance.

just now I view Kayaker's attachment. Rocks!

Especially:
TROLLs
.trying to impress others with thier knowledge (ok, many word yet is not knowledge~:0)

.often have personal issues that lead them to try to control others

& on picture is very similar old one..

It would certainly appear that Eval is feeling the "heat" and that while Eval can dish it out, Eval just can't take it.

So we wll have to add two more.

The Act of Desperation

And

The Articulation of Defeat.

Definately a useful, and humorous transposition, but not truely within the "spirit" of the game.

For Eval, DOA= Dead On Arrival

And this is number "500."

I think you just need a few more shots of "spirits"!

A for 'Orses
B for Mutton
C for Yourself
D for Mation
E for Brick
F for Vescence
G for Police
H for Consent
I for Lutin
J for Orange
K for Teria
L for Leather
M for Sis
N for Mation
O for A Muse of Fire
P for Ate
Q for A Song
S for Something Else
T for Two
U for Mism
V for La France
W for Mism
X for Breakfast
Y for Lover
Z (zee) for yourself

We could guess that eval's a swimmer:

Although I did think of "The Art of Disassembly" at the start, it didn't qualify as "wild speculation." Too ordinary.

I loved the "Drowning" one though but it does have that extra letter "M" on the end.

And I would highly doubt that Eval could be German and a member of the Army of Darkness. He displays none of the teutonic traits I associate with family members sharing that ancestry and is much too imprecise to qualify anyway.
And it doesn't fit with Bubbles watering flowers.

hm, big deal, MM always easy to unpack -using "Privilege Client" (old VBOX) last I knew, on all their products. Lunar's tute works on FMX, FHNDMX, etc, even used it on DIRMX, so should work on DMX...? Maybe no?
