Why is it checking all your drices, well it's stepping through your drives tring to find which one is the cdrom and getting their assigned letters.

This is pretty normal for a cd based protection.

Cossacs depending on what country you 'bought' it in may be a copylok file.

If so, I suggest looking at something else first if you have had no experiance of dumping and IT rebuilding, then get some practice with packers.

www.discompress.com is a good place to start.

If it's not copylok then you probaby look for the usual GetDriveTypeA call.
