Learn the PE file. Especially the header. Get latest PEditor1.7 from protoools (greetz y0da . Where is my 'registered' LordPE ???)
and have a play with your Notepad.exe . Get the full SP on basic Notepad then pack it with all those trial packers/protectors from exetools and protools et al.

There are other nice tuts aound as well (greetz ev!L_r!sc)

Then unpack/rebuild ......till you understand the concept.

Then come and ask some questions :-)
cos I bet you would just love to unpack ASprotect1.2, wouldn't you !

Unpacking asprotect 1.2 leaves an empty feeling and the inability to work on anything other than unpacking.
