View Full Version : Russian Webhosters against IceExt...

Hello there...

I know it's a big FAQ-NoNo to ask where to get the tools but it seems i
need more than just searchengines here. The "other" reason why i'm asking is
i do believe it's a legal tool.

/intro
A few days ago i wanted to start another trymedia-thread in the
miniproject-area (maybe i'll stick to HopCode or buntus's thread). Since i had
serious problems with Olly (and due to the fact that there was a newer
DriverStudio) on ActiveMark targets i thought SI could do that better.
Well...till i tryed to hide it.
/outro

Since NTIceDump seemed to old (on my HD) i thought IceExt v0.57 would do
better. (i use W2K)
But for some reason it's gone...The dl-link on Sten's hp is a dead one.
Had no luck with searchengines either (even russian meta's).

Is there anyone who could give me at least a hint here?
Is Aaron's ftp the wrong place for such tools (no luck there too)?

Thanks in advance and thank you for reading this lame request
till down here...

esther

1)look for cracking tools in search engine
2)look at forum links below

hxxp://stenri.pisem.net/

thanks you vm for replying

well, it seems that i should have made my request shorter or somewhat clearer...

@evaluator: websearch i guess (including forums). and i dont have a searchengine in my bookmarks that can handle regular expressions...
or maybe i'm just to stupid to find the right searchterms

@esther: as i wrote in my first post: the download-link on hxxp://stenri.pisem.net is broken for me (takes me to hotbox.ru)

@both: i'm not having problems finding references for newer iceext (protools, crackl@b etc.) but nearly all of these links point to sten's site at the end from where i can't download. i haven't found a direct download link yet for a
iceext-version that works properly under w2k with newer softice

LobSang Ludd:

Maybe it's time to empty your internet browser cache and dump cookies and then maybe your use of the author's URL at hxxp://stenri.pisem.net/ given by esther would work correctly for you. It certainly works without problem from this side of the world.

Doug:

Thank you very much. I appreciate it a lot (and lots and lots...).

JMI:

Thanks for the good advice but it still doesnt work. In general my browser
settings are very strict (maybe too strict?) -> that is: no js, no plugins,
accept cookies only after i've read them, avoid using IE, flush new cookies on
exit. I hope it's not my ip-tables or snort script...But after i browsed the
forum i saw that more people are having troubles connecting to wasm.ru and
such sites. So i thought it could be a blacklisting (or DNS-censorship) problem
(i only have 3 dialup-accounts at the moment - guess it's not enough in these restrictive days )

I apologize for any inconfini...inconvinienz... or whats that word again?
Sheesh, that last brownie screwed my spelling... I'd betta go breakpointin now

Regards!

BTW, i also failed for dld iceext from main page. What the heck can be, JMI?

JMI
February 10th, 2004, 18:05
More than likely has something to do with the security settings on your Browser. Are you using IE or one of the others? Did you get the same forwarding to hotbox.ru LobSang Ludd reported, or did it just not download?

same forwarding on Opera & Mozilla

I can't get the file either. Did you really try to downoad the file itself JMI, or just access the page? It is the file link that seems to be broken, not the "surrounding page".

I created copy of sten's site & downloading works.
So in original site file not exists.
test it:

OT but interesting/disturbing nonetheless re wasm:

wasm.ru works, but incognito.

JMI
February 10th, 2004, 21:13
dELTA: You are correct again. Damn it. I did not understand the original post to indicate it was the link to the "file" which was "broken" so I only checked the link to the web address which I "thought" he was indicating was broken. I have since also confirmed that the link to the download does not find the file. Eval's does work. Aster!x are you suggesting that wasm.ru has a "secret" new IP? Hope so. Anything we can do to help?

I have some ideas, but it is necessary to consult with Volodya.

Hehe, nice eval.

I actually had some trouble accessing msdn.microsoft.com the other day, would you mind setting up a quick mirror for that one too you think?

Howdy,

I had no problem finding it

finding what? iceext57.zip or wasm.ru?

but guys, i'm curious about that DDos.
I don't know exactly what it is (sending junk packets, ye?), but i know- this is very old fact.
So solution for DDos mostly done, isn't it?

dELTA
February 11th, 2004, 07:12
Eval, DDoS attacks are very hard to defend against, and do not at all have a good "solution". With "normal DoS attacks", they typically come from one or a couple of systems, making it possible to block them out at the firewall or router level. But with DDoS attacks, the attacker has taken over (hacked) tens, hundreds or thousands of different computers, and then make them all attack at once. This makes it very hard to block out, and even giants like Microsoft have big problems with it.

The attacks can be performed in different ways, but the common thing is that they burden the server so much that it becomes practically unavailable for normal users, and might even crash.

dELTA,

last times, you too much warry about some Micro-giant.
forget it or we will think something wrong~

JMI

Good analysis techniques require that one consider both how something might be done and how one might defend against it happening. Studying both sides of an issue generally leads to the better analysis of either and both sides. Thinking only about one point of view is, generally, inviting sloppy and overconfident conclusions.

Of course no one would actually "lie" to spies, would they. And no one would lie to a dictator who might have a habit to killing (or worse) those who do not bring him information which he wants to hear.

hi probably recommends Dialectic method..

JMI
February 12th, 2004, 04:00
Nope. Read, Hegel's THESIS, ANTITHESIS, and SYNTHESIS and they are somewhat catchy phrases for debate, and have studied and used the techniques. However, the prior discussion was just a recitation of the military rule of the 6 "P's." "Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance."

& isn't that Dialectic!?
& isn't Hegel author of Dialectic?

Hi,

I think JMI tends to be didactic.

(that word will cost you $11.50)

Woodmann

esther

You mean dickdatic

JMI
February 12th, 2004, 23:01
Now Eval, as I recall, Hegel was a late comer to the discussion. There was the famous or infamous "Augustine, de dialectica, in latin, long before my German ancestor took up the crudgel.

And didactic it is. I've said the secret woird. Did I win a hunred dollars???

Woodmann

Oh esther,

I hope you are not being pugnacious towards the didactic person.

(You owe me $18.10, Euros will be fine)

this dung sounds funny.
Is it better?
