Hmmm it seems Crapkey has dropped off the radar.

All my *Targets* have long changed to a new version of license Manager (FlexLM) although the License file seems to be encrypted string rather than Feature etc format. Oh well thats for another post once I get a bit further.

Going back to the topic Has anyone seen a product still protected with Crapkey version 6.0. I wonder if people no longer use this sort of protection and that Flexlm has taken over...

Anyway you observations are most appreciated.

I can't talk certainly, because I don't know enough about the previous versions. But I think the new version of ipMonitor (7) uses it.

I say this because I know someone who purchased the product, and couldn't get it to work legitimately. (I had a quick look at it).

I'm not sure how long it'll last if it doesn't even let paying users use the protected software.

They are obviously changing protections.

A protection that damages HD writing crappy info in the Slack Space of the HD cannot be good.

Also I prefere Armadillo, SVKP or PC-Guard V5. They will write tons of registry entries but wont ever go into inner hardware workings of my Hard Drive.

I wonder why CrypKey has not been yet denounced...i don't think it's so legal what it's doing.

Yes...but with other, I can reformat my hard drive and clean everything from it, with crypkey how can i clean all traces?

Non to reset trial period, but if i want to clean up the hd, I WANT TO CLEAN UP MY HD, lefting nothing else than WHITE CLUSTERS, and NOT CRAPPY INFO.
