Hi,
Whats the best CAB file decomp/editor/extractor/replacer for MSI cab files for new installshield cab files?
something like I5COMP or similar to it.
Do you know any?

I assume you did a search on the internet and this board for like cases.

Perhaps searching for I6comp might be logical?

My 2 cents worth

thanks Peter,
I got I6Comp, but you may know its not working on new Installshield MS CAB files. You can do something with MS SDKs but I mean a really easy one just like I6comp.
thanks anyway for your reply.

For MSI cab's you don't need anything special - I'm not sure why you are wanting an API or anything like that. Windows XP can just open these cabs like any other.

Of course I haven't tried replacing files in them.

Old InstallShield cabs were proprietary, but MSI cabs are normal windows cab files..

Yea I got the exact same problem so if any can find a solution.........
I found a discussion somewhere on the Web, one said that winAce was able to do the Job, but no .....i tried winace, Acdzip , and different other packers/repackers....my best guest so far is to disassemble other files used in the set up and see if it checks filesize etc. In my case it replied that a certain file was missing, .......
