i'm trying to get pass the anti-softice routines of a program that is installed using installshield 6(fileversion 6, 02, 100, 1247). when i have softice loaded it just says it cant load setup for any reason. when i try to hide softice with frogsice, my pc reboots or hangs. i found the call where the message is dispalayed that setup cant continue, but i cant figure out where the installer checks for the presence of softice. does anyone know how to fix this?

Try icedump

1) load it
2) enable protection ( protect on )
2a) start proggy
3) if soft ice pops sayind " bla bla tryind ... " disable protect , trace a few steps
manually (F8)
4) enable protection again
5) and so on

I think it is classical way to defeat such things
