I thought i'd start a new thread for this... i posted earlier about the same program, but this is a new problem. Hope I'm not being to needy -b

I've recently cracked a program. Everything works exactly as I needed except for the fact that the program is now taking up 90-99% cpu power as reported by the task manager. I've only been able to use softice to debug this program and thus far have not been able to find a way to figure out WHY this is happening. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. -b

I'm curious why you think this is a ring0 issue? One thing you might try is, go into Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Performance and right click on the graph and select Add Counters. From here you can add monitoring options. For example, under System you can add File Read Bytes/sec, or other operations to monitor. If you can isolate the correct thing to monitor maybe you can narrow down the problem. An idea anyway.

Ok, a little clarification of the FAQ might be necessary here I see, we like you to include as much true and relevant info as possible in the message subject lines, not just any random info and buzzwords that might not actually have anything to do with the subject...
