I have softice workin on my xp desktop fine .... well theres some probs, but it works good till i reboot .... but its dealable

but on my laptop when i first load it and try a ctrl+d the screen goes haywire like someone put put a background of the desktop in tiny tile mode. Then when i ctrl+d out ... everything resumes normally

Anyone know how to make softice recognize new drivers? cuz the vid driver for my laptop isnt listed in the videocard set that they give. ive tried universal mode, and when i test, it says its ok .. but when i try to actually use it, it gives me probs. Any ideas?

softice ver 4.2.7
windows xp (all updates and service packs installed)

well ... installing an updated driver didnt work

any ideas on getting SI to recognize my driver (cuz i think thats what the prob is). btw ive seen the Vsetup.ini file ... but dont understand how to manipulate it. I have a ATI Radeon IGP 345M

any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't take it the wrong way, but there has been plenty of discussion about the issue in the board. Search back.
I summary, video interface of Sice is touch and go. . . particularly with laptops.

Suggestions people came up in the past?
play with all the possible video settings combinations until one works,

E-mail compuware tech support with your system ID and your purchase serial number and they may be able to help you

Try using Driverstudio 3.1 instead, which was what worked for me.

As I posted in another thread, grab the osinfo.dat and update sp from the compuware site. sice crashed, bsod'd and screwed up my video on my laptop until I applied the update, now it works fine (apart from a brown flashing line where "Press <whatever> to not load <something>" should be on bootup).

That's a known and fixed bug, both the new version and the patch for older versions fix this afaik. Patch is available on compuware's webpage.
