For those of you who have been pestering me by PM about access to Exetools I can report that this morning Aaron appears to have set the main Forums for viewing by non-registered guests.
At the moment new registrations remain closed and I have no idea when they may be re-opened. That decision is solely up to Aaron and he has said they will remain closed for the remainder of the year. You'll simply have to continue to visit and see if it has re-open. He is still in the process of culling the membership list of those who registered only to gain access to the ftp. The "membership" is now down from 14,000+ to 3,800+ and still gradually going down. Those who do not post for six months or do not visit for three months are being deleted.
Even if he re-opens registration soon, no one who registers gains access to the ftp immediately. At the moment 10 posts of some substance are required (meaning "thank you" is not sufficient and posts seeming to have been made just for post count are deleted), although consideration is given to those who do not post, but do upload the approporate materials. Limits on what is acceptible have also been enforced.
While "guest" will be able to visit most of the Forums and read the posts, they will not be able to download attachments and will not have access to the ftp password or the ftp.
Again, I do not make these policies, so there is no point in sending me a PM complaining about such things, or asking me to do something about them, or asking that I get you or a friend a membership.
Regards,
