I spent 20 minutes typing a well thought out response and one fucking slip of the finger erased it all.

Anyway, there are some very good points in that article.

well it's a fuckin good job your not the US Gov't man in charge of the 'NUKE' button........it'll be a few thousand half-life years before anybody could type a response

C'mon Splaj.....

We all know that there is only one way to set off the "nukes".

1) 2 people are needed.
2) both have to have another person give them access to launch sequence that is locked in the safe.
2) Where are those 2 guy's with the key's to activate the switches ?
3) timing has to be precise, if one guy turns his key to early they have to start the whole thing over again. (They never show the part when they screw it up
4) Stand there and wait for the phone to ring for official word to press the buttons.
5) Phone rings again, stand down-deactivate launch sequence.
6) Push the button anyway to see what really happens
