Here's a link for you: http://www.woodmann.net/forum/search.php

PS. I think you have mistakenly mixed up the "s" and "z" buttons.

Ok....so you say you searched....perhaps we can assist in your searching techniques...what search engine did you use and what did you enter into the search engine? How many hits did the search results find? Did you try any other search engines? Try re-ordering the seach terms....does this change the results? If you are unable to search and find information, you will most likely not be able to understand the material even if you found your "step by step" guide. While this forum is for newbies, stating you are a newbie will not make anyone fall over themselves to assist you if you cannot show what you have done to help yourself. Also, as far as I am aware, there are no penalties for using more than 100 words to explain your situation. So go on and tell us in detail what you have done, what tools you have used, and anything else that might make it seem like you are trying to work this out on your own and not just seeking a quick fix.

If I only had a dollar for everyone who said they had searched.........

I beg people to ask me how to better their efforts at searching.

Now, the first thing you need to understand (and this goes for all newbies)
is that you cannot just open up your program with a hex editor and change a call and have a working app. It will NOT happen.
You have to have a MORE then basic understanding of all things associated with RCE. If you want a 5 minute fix, you want something called a CRACK.
We do not have those things here.

How do you gain such abilities ??? You start with tutorials and some reference manuals.
Here is an example:http://www.woodmann.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5836&highlight=armadillo+hardware

There is no end result to this thread because the person who asked the question either did not understand the tips or just never posted his success.

I think it was the former.
You owe me a dollar for doing your search.

well respected ADMIN & MEMBERS THANX FOR UR ANSWER i have searched this forum many many times before posting my very first query
@WOODMANN i had also seen this (http://www.woodmann.net/forum/showthread.php?t=5836&highlight=armadillo+hardware) before ur post even downloaded the tutorial for unpacking armadillo 3.40 by LOWNOISE But the tutorial has something missing i.e (OS to use)

@Rackmount
after reading the tutorial i m confused about two things
1=OS to use(for me its working in XP only)
2=it is for wat>is it for fooling time limitation or for hardware protection?

EVEN after that i have tried it on my applet the tutorial is in three parts 1st part says change the two bytes EB FE witch stands for JMP EIP (successfully done)after that it says if u r getting EAX is =00000001 in the (FPU)the operation was successfully completed (THIS IS ALSO DONE) AFTER THAT i got the process ID n attached successfully after that when i run the application by PRESSING (F9) IT should give me the JMP EIP loop for restoring the original bytes @ this point i m not getting the two byte but three bytes and also not getting the splash screen!!

i m really confused.......

"Manual Unpacking Armadillo

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is my little contribution to this Board

This tut is based on my notes of this app, This is the second time i unpacked a armadillo app so the info in this tut may not be completely correct
because i make use off the DebugActiveProcessStop api it works only on WIN2K / XP or above

Have fun with this tut, and don't look at the crappy english
lownoise"

This was taken from site where Lownoise posted his tut....can you tell the OS now?

Question # 2...most likely it encompasses both aspects if they are involved in the protection scheme, otherwise the end result wouldn't be a working solution

hey guys
i have done some more effort now ORIGINAL BYTES restored successfully n also getting the (SCREEN) NOW the tutorial telling me
((The splash screen is executed in the armadillo code that means that we haven't passed the Oep. To locate OEP we set a memory breakpoint at the first section after the Pe header))

CAN SOME ONE TELL ME THE ABOVE LINES IN EASY WORDS

THANX IN ADVANCE

We really don't need you to chime in with such comments four months after the last post in the thread. It had little redeeming value to begin with. It would seem that you are just interested in seeing you nick on the Board.
