A little history before I go to the real deal

Today I downloaded some utility to decompile .swf files, wanted to check how good it is. Well, surprise - "General extraction error", it seems armadillo protected. I'm not really into unprotecting, but things like program not functioning with SoftICE even INSTALLED, not running, REALLY PISSES ME OFF! I use sice often and won't f**k with uninstaling it to test some shitty app. "OK, let's load IceEXT and see", I thought. Turned !protect on and launched the app. Whoops.. BSOD ;]

I don't want to dig inside this stinking piece of software, I'm only writing this to help improve IceEXT (as with my previous report with DX problems).
I'm inluding winice's start log & windbg's crashdump analysis (in 1 file, seems that can post only one attachment). Hope this helps somewhat

I don't know about the IceExt issue, but

- your softice serial is in your report txt file.

- The SoftICE check is most likely just a registry / OpenService / EnumServicesStatus call.

I would vote for OpenService, but nikolatesla20 would know better.

Howdy,

I removed the file. Clean it and upload it again.

Newer Arma's also look for IceExt service key in the registry, thats why Sten's installer let's you choose different names for the iceext service
