hi, i my first attempt to crack was a program (Name Deleted) that probably uses this protection(thatīs what a plugin from PEiD said (units browser)... anyone knows it? is it possible to crack it? other question: anyone knows what these functions do?

LStrFromChar,StrToInt

It looks obvious, but iīm very confused in this part of code, cuz iīm using trw2000 once sice isnīt working, and just to curtail:

(in sice)
bpx 017F:0066A110 is ok right?

and is there a bpr for trw2000???

thanks and sorry for the english...

Hi there,

You are using 2 wrong approaches.

1. Name Deleted is not a easy serial/time application that can be easily cracked. Since you are not aware of even the rudiments, I'd suggest you begin by hitting Winzip v5 and upwards. MIRC v5 and upwards will also do.

2. You need to go to the borland site, into their public folders, and download the winhlp32.zip file. This will tell you the meaning of all the functions such as LStrFromChar and StrToInt etc. If you find (and you will, as you go further up the tree of reversing) that the info may not pertain to the more newer levels of OS. For that, feel free to go to MSDN collection (www.microsoft.com) and search for the API. Simply putting the API in the search box in the home page of the site will get you matches that should keep you busy.

And who uses TRW nowadays? Use ICE or Ollydbg or Microsoft Debugger with the LiveKD extension available at www.sysinternals.com

READ THE DAMN FAQ linked in the BIG RED LETTERS at the top of the Forums. Our Rules PROHIBIT posting TARGET SPECIFIC CODE if you IDENTIFY THE NAME OF THE TARGET.

Get with the program and follow the Rules.

LStrFromChar,StrToInt are functions in Delphi Runtime Library. If you have Delphi, you can go to Source\RTL directory, open file SysUtils.pas and see the Object Pascal source code of two above functions.

That's all we ask. You got unloaded on because it has been happening alot lately that new registrants fail to read the FAQ and immediately begin to break the rules. This one is designed to help keep the software police off our "you know what" and from trying to convince our SP to shut us down.
