Hi,
reading out it seems that the new versions of Armadildo added a trick similar to the one posted here

_http://www.swissdelphicenter.ch/torry/showcode.php?id=1819

which allows to detect execution on a virtual machine..

What would be the good of that? Why shouldn't I be able to run a program under a VM? It's some valuable time they took that they should have put in their protection.

Most likely to avoid people easily circumventing any trial period limitations that leave persistant traces on the computer to prevent reinstallation as a means to reset the trial period. So, that makes it part of the "protection" that you thought they should have spent that time on indeed.

Well, I think the number of people using a VM to run trial applications is almost equal to nil. As such it's a waste of time

It's a thing that's starting to be used: crack on a virtualPC the program just to not dirt the real pc with most times useless (4 the cracker) programs..

For Mac Users for example, there only way to run win progs is through virtual pc so doing something stupid and pointless like trying to detect virtual machines as a 'cracker tool' or alike is just bound to piss loads of people off who validly use them.

Arma (and other protectors) detect virtual machines and don't use some of their protection tricks when they are not compatible. that's all.

Please don't say bullshits when you haven't any single clue about what you are talking about.

Thanks.

Alright, let's not make the comments about the individual (unless it's me teasing my friend dELTA ). If you want to criticize the validity of the information, that is one thing. We don't want this to be a place for flame wars.
