No, seriously. It's really no big deal, but I thought that was odd. I installed Driver Studio 3.1 on my Windows XP box a while back. I think that was pre-SP2 at the time. Among other odd things it did, it ate my boot screen. I.e., not the login screen, but the actual boot-up screen with the pointless little green scrolly before it switches to full-blown grahic mode. Instead, I just get a black screen. Is really disconcerting since you can't tell if it's frozen or what.
I eventually uninstalled Driver Studio after getting highly frustrated with all the other issues I had with it. But the boot screen is still MIA. I can't figure out what the %#$* it did with it. The boot screen is a resource in ntoskrnl.exe. I've pulled out a resource editor and taken a look at it. The boot screen is there. I've even loaded it up in photoshop and fooled around with it. It's just not displaying, and I just can't imagine what would cause that, especially after uninstalling Driver Studio. I guess I don't really care, it's just really....weird.
Anybody have a clue what this is about? (And yes, I've searched - this seems to be a unique problem)
