hi,

@mods:
seems that my last post contained a little bit too much, didn't it? however, i'll give it another try..

to emulate the hl-code-function you have to calculate some seeds, which is usually no problem (and i promise that i'm familiar with the tutorials etc. - so this is no request like "please cr@ck smth. for me" etc. - maybe i was misunderstood in my last posting - all i want is more information - no tool etc.).. it seems that i got 2 hardlocks that use another type of encryption than the others like the demo-hardlock for example... has anyone more information about that?

regards

Hiya,

Yes, recently I've also run into several Hardlocks where the seeds couldn't be derived from a dump. Amongst people I've been speaking too we've dubbed these the 'german hardlocks', it appears they are re-programmed in some manner, I have no more information than that.

Sp0raw assures me he will post an updated version of his dumper shortly which should allow us to "see" exactly what this modification is. A few people have been examining Hardlock's 'programmer' application and its dll as a starting point.

Regards

CrackZ.

Note to mods : Crypto probably isn't the right forum for this post imho.

Agreed. Although, whether it might more properly be here or in unpacking was not as clear, but I opted for here.

"German" hardlocks = old hardlocks, based on early "Flora" ASIC.
Old dongles have only function HL_CALC.

New hardlocks contains "Luna" ASIC. (support HL_CODE function)
