I would like to compare two very similar binary executable files, but I am having a problem with BinDiff, the plugin for IDA Pro. Basically, every time I try to compare the two binaries, I am beiing asked for a *.sig file, which has never been created before, and thus, the comparison of the binaries will fail if I cannot locate this file. I don't understand why it is asking me for a sig fule, since the BinDiff docs show that it is not supposed to be necessary (analysis of Bagel/W versus Bagel/X).

Does anyone here have experience with BinDiff? I am using thr trial version for now with IDA Pro 4.7 -- but I don't believe that is a problem. Please let me know if any of you have experience with BinDiff before...thanks!

I suppose that this is the limitation of the demo version
If I recall correctly there are no other things that prevent you from using the version without problems.

Hrmm, so are the *.sig files not needed in the retail version? And isn't this demo useless if I don't have a sig file? How can I analyze the two binaries to determine if BinDIff is worth the money??!?!

My understanding is that the BinDiff demo only allows you to diff the two .exes that come with the demo. The licensed version allows you to diff any files.

The Demo version is missing the code that Generates the *.sig files. Without it the app is very much usless except with the demo files to which they provide a ready made .sig file

You can get the version that generates the sig file from SABRE security. Now please pay me money to my p4yp4l account.

Do NOT ask again on these Forums where to find a cracked version of commercial software.
