I am trying to get SoftICE working under Windows 2000 Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195.

My keyboard shortcus (Ctrl-D) is not working and after doing lots of reading first on FAQ's on asking questions and more reading on SoftICE I came across this snippet.

" For keyboard support on builds of Windows 2000 that are not specifically tested, download the i8042prt.sys driver on ftp.numega.com\anonymous\tech. Replace the driver currently installed on your system with the downloaded driver (please backup the original driver). This version of the driver is supported. It is simply the i8042prt.sys driver from a build that is specifically supported. "

The mentioned link does not exist anymore. Any pointers on getting hold of the i8042prt.sys driver that is "specifically tested" assuming from the document it refers to builds 1946, 2000 2021, and 2031. I tried the obvious searches, so any advice or pointers will be much appreciated.

You can find the file at the compuware Japanese site - hxxp://www.compuware.co.jp/products/driverstudio/util_DS.html
I don't know if it's exactly what you need but give it a try.

Compuware changed the website design recently, you have to login to their "Frontline" system now to download any of the previously freely available updates. I will see if they still have that sys file for download there. I am using Softice from DS 3.0.1 under w2k without a problem, you just have to add NTSYMBOLS=ON to the softice configuration and use the symbol retriever with ntoskrnl.exe (and afterwards load the resulting nms file in softice)...
Repeating this can be necessary after installing windows updates

I checked their website and found a new download link. As I am unsure whether I should post it here or not, I won't
