Hi,
I am ThanderMAX.

I wanted to make a generic driver to fecilate low level RING 0 from RING 3 user application level to access to various devices and ports . It will enable others to format a drive , read or write a disk sector while running in WIN 9x or XP or NT , Direct Port access to facilate , debugging or dumping a process programatically etc .

But the problem is the driver development kit (DDK ) by which i can compile the driver is not currently available for free download and is quite costly (perhaps arround $450). But it was available for free quite sometime ago from MSDN DDK site.

So if any body has it or have a link to the kit Please give me. I am waiting for it.

The Completed Project (i.e. driver + source code) will be available for free from me upon completion.

Please ,Kindly,Generously etc. etc. help MEEE.

regards,
ThanderMAX

ThanderMAX,
why don't you study some assembler and grab KMDKit?

It comes with a lot of beautiful examples!

$450 ? where did you get that figure?

I bought the XP DDK for $20 ($0+ $20 shipping) last year.

And if you really want it for free, there are some websites hosting the old win2k DDK (which was downloadable). And if you can search the net, you will also find the most recent version of it. .

And which part of the statement in the FAQ did YOU NOT understand?

What questions may I and may I not ask about acquiring tools?

2. You may NOT ask about where to download ANY tool, freeware, pirated or whatever (this is to make sure no links to pirated software occur here, and to avoid people using this forum instead of google, even for freeware tools). This does of course include NOT being allowed to ask if someone can send it to you too!
A valid exception to this rule of not being allowed to ask WHERE a tool can be found is when the original site of a free tool has disappeared, and it is hard to find it by searching. In that case you MAY ask if anyone knows what happened to the site, and if there are any ways to find this tool anywhere else.

You will also note in the heading of the Tools of the Trade Forum the statement:

Do not ask where to get the Tools of our Trade. Do not even think about asking for them.

Clearly YOU do NOT care about our Rules if YOU want something. This was a completely lameass move on your part. Violate our Rules in this manner again and YOU are history. No excuses will be tolerated.
