i'm quite new to reversing and up till now have only made cracks using wdasm. Now I would like to move on and try softice. My target is bryce 5 trial which is vbox protected. I've read +tsehp's tut on it and I it might be a bit too much for me, but a try never hurts
When I try running vbox together with sice 4.05 or trw2000 I get a pirating message and it won't run. Also newest procdump gives an error when dumping.
Do I need some additions to sice to keep it from being detected?

btw the packed executable is 5Mb alone, so a vbox removed exe will probably not show up as a crack.
Doing it yourself is much more rewarding anyway

to +Tsehp: Amok has released a great utility to remove the vbox (also version 4.5) related files and reg-entries, so 30-day trial is reset. Downside is you have to reinstall
vbox cleaner 1.0 util can be downloaded from their website

Use Icedump, frog's ice or conutless others to hide s-ice. Or do it manually and learn: either download frogs ice and check the doc that comes with it, or find some info on anti-softice trix. The last option is ofcourse recommended.
