What app converts a bmp, etc to raw format? Just figured out dib after reading sheeps tut. I can manipulate the canvas and his sheep pic.(make it move, change the color, etc.) I dont want to install a bunch of apps I dont use, just to find one that converts to raw.

Or spell out the format in the bitmap and Ill write my own converter for it and the palette.

I'm not entirely sure that you're on the right forum for this, but I have a few words for you nonetheless.

I know Paint Shop Pro 7+ can import and export as raw files, but perhaps you don't want to buy such a powerful tool for a trivial use like this. I'd be tempted to perform a quick search on download.com for some kind of RAW converter.
If you're still stuck, take a trip to www.wotsit.org. You'll find prototypes for just about any non-proprietary file format you can think of. The RAW format is in there, and appears to be very straightforward (although I can't say I'm impressed with it).
If you're at all handy at programming, I'm sure you could code yourself a custom converter in no time.

Hi,

You can also try IRFANview, which is a free program and support many formats. You'll have to download the plug-ins pack to have raw support.

This is the default viewer I use for my pics, it is trully light and has some nice features.
