The object of this post is to query other users: Have you have had issues with IceExt?
The story:
I have WinXP sp 2.
I use Sice 3.2, which, so far works in my box ( do not ask me why, I don't know, it just did, with minimal effort)
I loaded and run IceExt 0.67 in the past, no problem, it worked. . .
perhaps some WinXP update happended, or a change in IceExt, I do not know
, I did not keep copies, but for the last 4 months, It refuses to load.
I installed Win XP on a VMware machine, Sice and IceEXT, no luck.
I re installed the software, re downloaded the software, I tried to trace it. Nada
I am aware of my own idiocy, so please do not point it out too harshly,
the point of the post is
Is this unique to my system, or have other people observed similar problems.
Also please give me some pointers about trouble SHOOTing the bastard. . .

From a recent-ish thread:
You may get an error message when typing "net start Iceext" in a command box, something like:
"Insufficient system resources exist..."
Using regedit, under
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet/Services/NTIce]
; increase the KDHeapSize to 100000h from its default setting of 1FA0h
"KDHeapSize"=dword:00100000

Sorry I did not go into more details, kayaker.
The Bitch does not give me an error message I could use to figure out the problem. it pretends it was loaded, but then, when I issue any !protect or !tetrix command, Sice say, "no addon loaded" or something of that sort.
I already tried changing the KDHHeapSize (I did search the board) did not work.
No luck!
Well What has me out of balance is that it worked before, and then something changed, AND I want to get my finger on WHAT did this to me.
The point of my post is not only to whine, but to compare cards with other users that had run into similar situations

Hiya,
Okee, can you be more precise on the error msg? More along the lines of "
exactly of this sort", rather than "
something of that sort"
For example there are 2 error msgs which might occur from ntice32.sys:
'No kernel debugger extensions loaded'
'Error - no kdextensions are loaded.'
Significant info:
Do you get the IceExt "menu" or list of available commands when you type the first character of the extension bang command, the "!" ?
Y'see, I can issue any Sice command, including "!", and trace into the code. A little ditty I call IceProbe

. So I might be able to dig a little deeper into what's causing your exact error msg.

Yes, I had exactly this problem. I don't recall how I fixed it unfortunately. I do remember it was less skill & knowledge and more random, blind reinstalling of stuff until it worked.
In fact looking at my install directory, I think I reverted to an older version of IceExt (0.61) then reinstalled... Sorry, no solutions, just reassurance you're not alone.

IceExt 0.67 doesn't work for me with DS 3.2 nor 3.1!
I have DS 3.1 installed under WinXP Pro SP1, i use IceExt 0.65 and everything works fine!

Sice.
