Hi.
Seems like it's possible to order -for free- the famous intel manuals. Look at:

No prices. Interesting. However, it says the printed ones are an older revision... and the PDFs are freely downloadable from their FTP. (I have the whole set, the printed ones as well as the PDFs).

It took forever to receive them (almost like with the US Post Office).

Received them a few days ago - took about a week. Fully free, great thing.

Yes omega_red, I only wait five days; they are very quick

honestly,
despite the fact that's free and that all that's free is good, I really do not see the reason for having such a document in plain paper, it's much more handy to have it in pdf..

I'll answer that. I can read a paper document for hours. But reading on a monitor screen I can last about 30 min. It sux. Plus PDF sux period. (At least, Acrobat reader sux that is) because it's so slow.
You can't beat paper docs.

It's always a pleasure when you are on your wc and you have something to read

Howdy,
I have to agree, PDF sucks.
I would much rather have the "paper" version than to have to keep scrolling up and down in Acrobat.
I wasted a $50.0 ink cartridge a long time a go to print out the PDF version.

I'm all for killing the trees - it's awful damn hard to dogear a PDF - I usually take them to work and print them there - always re-imbursing my employer of course, after I deduct taxes, and other fees it doesn't really amount to much!

A set of thick, manuals with impressive names is always a good addition to the bookcase

yes yes I agree, paper is better, I have tons of printed things, what I was trying to tell is that this specific document is mostly for reference and I never read it all from first to last page..
