I am looking for a really good packer/crypter to pack my EXE and DLL files. I have had a look around but every company claims theirs is the best.
I am looking for people to give me some advice who have had experience with these types of tools. I was looking at Yodas and MoleBox, but I'm not sure.
Any advice ?

Hello Mark,
I would go for ExeCryptor or Themida. They both seem very strong when using their macros to use the virtual machine.
I saw unpacked+Cracked Execryptor itselft but not for latest Themida. But who knows if someone has unpacked it but not released to public
Please, forget about Molebox, it's just good for packing many files together but it does offer a very easy protection to defeat

Asprotect 2.x is still giving people fits.

Themida is definitely quite a complex protection, but it bloats the file by a rather huge amount. However if you search this forums I believe there was a post made long ago about themida unpacking tutorial - it is also analysed quite a bit by the Chinese groups.

And how to protect soft against WPE sniffer?

Themida is great but I would have to say that Asprotect SKE When Used at its full potential is very powerful also - can be a nightmare to fix.

Asprotect looks a bit "dead", isnt it? At least to the public.
I can see 3 active protections at the moment:
Themida, Execryptor and Armadillo (well, I dont like Armadillo at all)

Depending on your requirements, you could also code your own protection. That way you avoid licensing fees, get far better control over the protection, prevent generic follow-the-tutorial cracks and so forth. The cost is some time to implement it (depending on complexity) and confidence in your own ability to design a strong protection system. For the time aspect I'd recommend you expect to spend about 30 to 40 hours to develop some reasonable protection. That's not just the bit that protects your app, that includes developing a registration system, a payment system, a support system for registered users when things-go-wrong(tm) and most importantly testing your protection on as many platforms as you can. And for encryption, unless you own schneier.com make sure you use tried and tested algorithms.

Dead in what way? Im sure the developers who's software hasnt been cracked recently dont think it is.
Themida is good yes but its been blown apart publicly by some people.
If I had to make a serious recomendation I would still say Asprotect SKE (which by the way is not aspr 1.35).
(damit you made me go over my one post every 6 month rule

I agree, over 50% of the stuff I see now is asprotect 2.1 - and after a very long time only now are a few very specific tut's emerging - it is quite good and few people are having success, as far as I can see.
