ARTeam is going to try something new.
We are going to try releasing an ezine in addition to our tutorials.
The ezine will be in the spirit of other zines such as phrack, and 29a
We are not looking to compete against any forum or group. Instead we are just trying to compile a nice compendium of information that hopefully you will find interesting.

What will the ezine be? I'll tell you...

1.
The ezine will be comprised of short articles. The stuff that doesn't warrant writing a whole tutorial about.
Example: A new way to detect a debugger, or a new way to defeat a debugger detection. Or how to defeat an interesting crackme. Stuff like that.

2.
The ezine will be more about sharing knowledge as opposed to teaching. So the articles can be more generic in nature. You don't have to walk a user through step by step. Instead you can share information from simple theory all the way to "sources included"

3.
We are accepting articles from anyone wanting to contribute. That means you. We want to make the ezine more of a community project than a team release.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What we are looking for in an article submission:
1. Clear thought out article. One thing that is true about ARTeam is that we take pride in everything we release. We are asking you to take the same pride in what you submit.
2. It doesn't have to be very long. A few paragraphs is fine, but it needs to make sense.
3. Any format is fine. EDIT: We will be releasing the ezine in pdf format so picture are fine.
4. Anonymous articles are fine. But you must have written it. No plagarism!
5. If your article is not used, its not because we don't like it. It may be too short/need some work/... or we may just not like it. :P We will work with you to help develop your article if it needs some work.
6. Any other questions you may have feel free to ask
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is currently just an experiment. So it may fail miserably! lol
Especially if noone submits. But I'm sure all of us have hit upon something interesting while coding/reversing. And have wanted to share it but didn't know exactly how. Or if you have cracked some interesting protection but didn't feel like writing a whole step by step tutorial, you can share the basic steps and theory here.

If you are interested in contributing send me an email with your idea or article:

Could you point to, or post here an example(s) of the kind of article you have in mind?

Sure naides.

Here is a part of a tutorial I wrote awhile ago. The crackme was written with AutoIT and I've modified the tutorial a little bit already but am planning to expand on it to create a generic AutoIT script analyzer.

Articles don't have to be this long, they can be shorter, they can be longer. But using this as an example we see that this is something that doesn't really deserve its own tutorial but may be intersting as an article.

Hi Forum .
i have a Suggestion for You . i Use W32Dasm . many Crackme's or Other Type Of Crack need This Program. Your Goal is to Learn newbe's so .
W32Dasm have a Good Choice of Commenting . it is a Good Idea to Commenting and Posting Them Like This One That Explain Many of WinMine(MineSweeper) To PPl. (i cant Attach it Why ??) Download it From http://www.tacSharp.com/Downloads/WinMine%20Comments%20For%20W32Dasm.zip
i think it will Help many ppl to Understand deadlisting Codes. isnt it ?
(Sorry For My Bad English)

hi,

nice idea i want to support it! especially the "wild form" of your zine should make it different. nice idea

i have a specific question: are theoretical articles welcome?
like something i never knew where to put it (ie codebreakers too official for this,
phrack not su suited, too, ... )

the thing is: i would write about a "new" kind of SW protection i encountered and sometimes spoke about with ie ppl here. I even cr*cked it and it was a hell
interesting and difficult thing.
now as the method is allready different enough to what i have seen, i would want to write about this system. its kinda exotic so to say.

next: how gray / black do you want to be?

i could even give some code rips, and examples from this thingy - but need
not be in a theoretical version.

thumbs up again!

@meteor
Thank you for this! Just a quick question, were these comments written by you? If not who gets the credit?

@0xf001
Glad you like the idea, we've had some good submissions so far that hopefully you and others will find interesting.
Pretty much anything is welcome. Theoretical articles are great, and if you want to include more that is fine too.
We try and hover around grey and dont condone stealing other peoples work. However, sometimes to fully explain how to defeat a protection you need an... "example". And we disclaim that you shouldn't use the "example" without paying for it.
Basically just write at as deep of a level as you are comfortable with. You have piqued my curiosity...

Well, hopefully we will have enough material so we don't have to push it back. But currently we are looking for a mid march release. There are a few weeks so you can take your time.

if I understand Your Qiuck Question Well-> i Wrote This Comments in W32Dasm by Right Click Code Line and Choose Add Comments. (commenting Line by line manually(i wish to Write a Prog For Auto Commenting W32Dasm DeadList)). you Can Load my Comments on WinMine.exe By loading Them After Disassembelling WinMine.exe(in win XP). it will be Good For Commenting any Other Codes in W32Dasm.
