Hello,

My last post was deleted, I think because I mentioned a tool, sorry for that. I will try to reformulate my question: I want to learn about flexlm. I already read the tutorials, but I need some help to use the Ida flair ;-).

Could you help me please?

Hiya,

The FLAIR tools are pretty simple as far as I remember, all you need are some suitable .lib files as input and a quick read of the documentation to generate firstly a .pat file and then a .sig file.

For the versions of FLEXlm after around v9.2 this is now less applicable as a strategy since Macrovision have obfuscated most of the internal names of the FLEXlm functions (although in fact few of them have actually changed very significantly, *cough* security by obscurity *cough*), there are still enough of the core functions they couldn't rename since the linker has to be able to connect them to legitamate developers using them.

All of the old approaches still defeat FLEXlm, although I'm seeing a few more vendors using custom checkout filters.
