hi all!

I need some help with sice 4.05 running on a w95b
machine with a pci-bus ne2000 compatible network
card (realtek chipset)

For setting up sice for remote-debugging via
tcp/ip network, numega provided a driver named
nmne2k.sys for ne2000 compatible cards. I have
tried that driver on a pc with an isa-bus ne2000
and it works fine.
Now the problem: The pci-bus ne2000 does as default
use an i/o range og 6000-601f on my machine. The
driver provided by numega allows an adress range
iirc from 0x200 .. 0x320. Simply changing the
original driver with that supplied by numega (and
renaming that to rtl8029.sys) makes the card
deactivated ('wrong driver'). After restoring the
original driver I tried that again, this time first
manually setting the adress range of the card to
0x320-0x33f, and then changing and renaming the
driver. But no success...

Maybe someone has a solution. Obviously I can't
call the numega support for assistance ...

This is what you need to do:
In device manager, select your network card, click properties.
In the 'dirver' property sheet, press on 'update driver'.
Select 'display a list of known drivers'.
Select 'have disk' and point to softice's ne2000 directory.
There should be a list of manufactures and drivers, go to realtek and select 'Realtek RTL8019 LAN adapter or compatable for SoftICE'.
(i know its not 8029 but it works.)
