Hi,

It's a simple question, maybe some of you will find it stupid but I'd like to know which is the best debugger.
I like TRW because you haven't to launch it before windows starts and you can unload it when you want but sometimes I wonder about which is the best. I use both but where are the differences? I would like experienced reversers answer me

Hi,

Once major difference that springs to mind, and there may be another way to do this but I haven't found it, is that there is no BPR command in TRW, so it's difficult to break on a range of memory accesses.

I've found the odd API that TRW doesn't recognize and I can't seem to enable mouse support either. The PEDUMP feature is nice though.

Sometimes an advantage is also a disadvantage: with trw2k you cant debug windows boot proccess (drivers initialization code etc..)

I personally don't like the fact that TRW can't change the horizontal width of the debugger screen. The lack of BPR is really annoying too.
Altho it has some good advantages (namely being loadable at will). The problem is SI is more complete, if you will.
A problem with SI tho is that it's very very easy to detect and crash in numerous ways..
I still prefer SI, but I like the GUI of TRW better hehehe
With SI I feel at home

Did I forget to mention that I didn't find any macro capabilities in TRW ?
Maybe I'm not aware of them existing but they are important, and TRW should have them.

PS: I think TRW2000 have been discontinued.

I love TRW2K 1.22 registered, but it always crashes when I try a bmsg (or bpmsg) . really annoying.
