I've hacked Ollydbg so it's no longer detectable by popular protectors, allowing you to crack the software they are protecting much more easily.

The hacked version may be download from:

http://www.zg520.net/soft/soft/669.htm
")

Note that once downloaded, there are no longer any string references to "Ollydbg" or the author, as all of these have been completely removed to hide the debugger from detection. I've also added some extra features to hide the program better in the process list.

I hope you got consent from Oleh first, as this violates the License Agreement. From license.txt:
You are not allowed to modify, decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer
the Software except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly
permitted by applicable law. You are not allowed to distribute or use any
parts of the Software separately.

*shrug* we all love and use the program for free, so let's at least respect its License Agreement. Perhaps a tutorial on how to patch it wouldn't be so bad...

That license agreement means exactly shit, I like to see Oleh enforce it in a court of law.

stealth, i think it's a good thing you are doing,
but if you made your changes available as a search&replace patch that could be applied to current and future versions of ollydbg, and thus provided as an extra utility, rather than a replacement exe for ollydbg, it would be perfect and i think everyone would be happy.

>> I like to see Oleh enforce it in a court of law.

many of us here think of oleh as a deity here - he deserves incredible respect and appreciation from all of us for making ollydbg available for free, and continuing to improve it.

StealthMan your disregard of the license agreement is one thing, but your lack of respect for Oleh is another and won't be seen favorably by many people here. He's taken a lot of time to research and develop this software, and lets you and all of us use it for free. He doesn't want money or even a thankyou, so Im amazed you can be so disrespectful to him when you clearly like and use his software.

All you had to do was email him for permission to release a modified version. I'm sure you'd be surprised at how friendly and helpful he is in his emails.

Fair enough, modified version removed and replaced with original version from Oleh.

You should still email him though - he might not mind, all you need is his permission in an email and then you can put it straight back
Or alternatively, just write a tutorial about how you patched it.
Anyway, you've done the right thing
