hi
skype is a p2p phone.
i want to make a security analysis of the binary.
but i cannot unpack the file.
i have less knowlege in unpacking, but i tried it.
i was wonderning that the protections pushs 20 times a null on the stack, is this a debuging detection trick ???

Skype is packed with PeX 0.99. The authors also scrambled it somehow to prevent unpacking with DeX (PeX unpacker). You'll have to do it manually. There's a tutorial about this subject. Did'nt try it myself though.

are you sure ?
i downloaded pex and test it with a exe and the decryption algorithm looks total different...

Don't know for the current version of Skype but a while ago on version 0.95 it was PeX. To be sure you can always check with PEiD.
