I have a passwordchecking program that I want to disassemble for tracking down the ad-routines, but there must be some kind of protection in it. W32dasm always hangs when it starts to disassemble it...

Any clue ?

BTW. If you call me Dumbass, I allready knew that ;D

I expect youd have more success disassembling it with IDA. See the datarescue ftp site for the free 3.85b release.

oops, I should point out that IDA will only probably fare better if its just an anti-disasm trick.

Alternatively, the target may be packed, in which case no disassembler is gonna make much sense of it until you unpack it.
