Hi, I understand under Tools of trade, not to ask where to get stuff. But since this is the ollydbg forum and not stated, I need to ask, but please accept my appology if I shoudnt here. I had lost my copy/install cd of ollydbg and after going to the ollydbg site, I can download the software but the zip file is corupted. I tried this many times to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

...you are aware that you can download OllyDBG at *many* other sites too...

the official download is actually a ZIP file *within* a ZIP file, that may be your problem.

Yes I tried several of the well know sites and it just takes me to some website where I cant find the file.

Zip within a Zip..... no not aware of that...

Ive tried several unzip programs outside of the standard win xp and I can only get partial recovery. Ive never come accross this before.

Later this evening, I'm going to try to add a copy of a working Zip file to the OllyStuph location we have associated with the Forums, Since this is now the "Official" Site of those materials. It's too large for a regular attachment to the Board.

Now you have to demonstrate a little patience, or go searching yourself for one that works. Remember that in Google, most of the "foreign language" sites have a "translate this page" button beside the link!

It may be going beyond what we want to offer here, but including a couple of the customized versions would be nice - Shadow comes with a plethora of scripts and just enough usefull plug-ins.

Actually, we'd probably be amenable to hosting many of the more useful updated plugins and utilities, as long as they weren't specific 'cracking' plugins or something.

To be frank, I don't know if any of the moderators (or maybe I'm just speaking of myself) have that much time or desire or enthusiasm to keep abreast of the "good" olly stuph that could be added to the OllyStuph page.

We seem to have enough on our plate right now, so if anyone wants to help improve the Olly section with suggestions or collections of quality material to add to it, I'm sure that would be appreciated. We've provided the outlet for a localised Olly 'hang-out', it's now up to the Olly users themselves to make the best use of it and help improve it together as a community.

Since we can't add attachments to PM's to the moderators, I suppose we could do something like open an 'olly plugin' thread or something, people could upload potential candidates and the best ones could be added to the OllyStuph page.

How does this sound?

Hmmm, give this old brain a day or so to clear the cobwebs, a couple of weeks ago I found a site that offered every version and more than I'd ever heard of, I just can't think of it at the moment - hopefully posting a link would be appropriate, as to "cracking specific" I've never really seen anything truly "cracking specific" - at least no more than arminline - scripts for finding packer"s oep's - restoring iat's and the such. So I guess a little clarity would be in order before people start submitting, or a "quarentine area" that could be reviewed, before making the material public.

I ran into the same issue, and almost wondered if it was a rite of entry to using the tool that you had to crack the zipfile first. :-)

Answer is there's just something weird between Olly's server and the IE browser I was trying to use to download it.

Downloading it from a DOS prompt with 'wget' worked fine.
