Hi

How can I extract a Programm who is inside a Installshield 10.5 project???

I know IS 5 and 6 decompiler/descrypter, but 10,5 ????

If you are asking someone to point you to a Tool of the Trade, you are violating our Rules and stated in the FAQ and in the Title of the Tools of the Trade Forum itself. If that IS the case, this thread will be deleted!

What you SHOULD do is your own searching for such a tool. You might start with something in your search engine such as:

decompile installshield 10.5

and other combinations of those words!

If searched the Net and found out, that it doesn't give a solution for Decompile now.

Do you know what compression method it uses? I'd guess it to be similar to the older versions, so you could try to force an older decompiler to unpack...

there is plenty of installshield extracting source code available. check ie free AV tools.

There's 100% !!no!! descripter on the net. I search a descripter too.

It's decompiler or unpacker or decompressor, not "descripter"... learn to know what your tools are called!

I'll repeat what I said - search this forum for msi and you'll find a commonly available tool that will do the job.

Sorry for reactivating this thread.
Does anyone still have a Installshield 3.x Version around and can give me a copy somehow.
I have read the FAQ and know that I should not ask for tools, but in this case, i have on other option, cause I searched the internet as well as my packer archive and I didn't find it.

The reason is that I cracked some old dongled scientific software (by emulation, was a lot of fun). I got the full version and now want to change some hardcoded names, so my helpful software source won't get any problems. The packed file is a blahbalh.Z file, Universal Extractor extracts it sucessful and tells me it was packed with a Instatallshield 3.x version.

Now I want to pack the patched file aggain, so the setup will be able to install it.
