View Full Version : New stuff in OllyDebug 1.10? + BP on WinAPI

I've practically always used SoftICE but now I can't due to some hardware incompatibilities. I've only used old OllyDBGs briefly and would like to explore the features of that debugger a bit more.
So I downloaded OllyDBG 1.10 but as soon as I attach an app to it and try RUNning it, it looks like Olly only STEPs through the app or rather that there's a breakpoint for every line. That's annoying and I wonder what setting I need to change. Or at least I hope it is one as Olly never was like that before!
+ How would I set a breakpoint on RegQueryValueEx?

Again, with resources available on the web and on this Forum, you have failed to demonstrate that you have done ANYTHING to try to answer your own question. This is NOT the place to come when one is just too lazy to SEARCH for answers themselves.
Have you actually attempted to use the SEARCH button here and see what is available in provious posts? Have you actually attempted to read through the titles of ANY of the threads posted in the Olly Forums to seek an answer to your question?
Again, something SIMPLE, such as:
ollydbg breakpoints on API
in your favorite search engine might be helpful! OR, if you get desperate, you might want to actually try the Ollydbg FAQ itself. Hint! It's question #3!!!!!
And if your NEXT question is, well gee whiz, how do I find that there Ollydbg FAQ thingie?? If you can't think of anything else, again try you favorite search engine and enter:
ollydbg FAQ
Again, if you did use ANY personal effort, you have again failed to say so, and again, you are not following our posting Rules.

I haven't found a solution for why it breaks when it should run. I searched for "single step event" but there's no solution for that. Older OllyDBGs worked ok. And yes I know that F9 is the run key. I also know that play = arrow button.
OK about the other question but from what I understand it's a quickie so I just combined it with the other question. If you didn't want to answer then that's ok with me, no need to write essays.
I'll look for help somewhere else.
