I just found this nice little plugin for Olly. I've actually been thinking several times that something exactly like this would be very useful:

OllyStepNSearch:
http://didierstevens.wordpress.com/programs/ollystepnsearch/

What it does is auto-single stepping through a selected area of code, reanalyzing the registers for each step, logging every instruction (address) that causes a register to point at a string (and also logs the string itself at the same time of course). I think you can see the wonderful possibilities here yourselves... It must be very slow of course, but then again, my computer doesn't get tired very fast...

I definitely think it's one for OllyStuph. Kayaker?

Has been for the last 2.5 months and I updated it to the new version a couple of weeks ago. Anything more?

dELTA and I are always invited late to the party. We'll try to search next time.

Look at the date of my first post in the thread, then speak for yourself. As it happens, it is a few days older than 2.5 months... It was just g3nuin3 who woke my old thread up.
