Ok I am new. So new I have done nothing but try to get all my tools in order. How do I get softice to work with XP? or, is there something I should use instead? All the tutorial and such are from the 90's and early 2000's so I am not sure what is the most up to date.
than you

My advice - for now go with ollydbg - we even have a separate area for discussing this fine tool, Sice's day has come and gone - if you want to explore a ring0 debugger then get windbg - free M$ download, but follow the advice posted elsewhere on this forum - if you are beginning choose olly - think about the others later. If you want to explore using Sice then search this forum RE: your problems using it with XP.
Just IMHO,

I suggest you to read the FAQ (as you should do before posting)
There is an entire section about SoftIce and XP.

Or better, dump Ollydbg (no flames guys!

) and start learning WinDbg. WinDBG is going to be around when Vista comes out. Olly is doubtful.
