Yesterday,I installed IDA Pro 5.0 (I have 4.8 )

but I found my 5.0 can't recognise functions like _BasepMapModuleHandle@8

_BaseSetLastNTError@4... but they can be recognised by my 4.8!

why? How to solve this?

thx

Is that your legal version? I think not.

It does seem a fair trade-off for using 'unofficial' software which is normally well supported - you don't get to complain about it!

Fire your FLAIR package and reconstruct the .sig files for Kernel32.dll

...and here I am, still using v3.6. Reminds me of this phrase from Fravia:

DO NOT UPDATE YOUR SOFTWARE IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!...

Uhmm...let me just try to recreate the .sig file...

thanx you all...

Yeah but browsing the forums on a DOS box is kinda tedious.

Fravia said this because he claimed that newer versions are more likely to monitor users' behaviors. I personally would rather have non-PII (personally identifiable information) reported back and have new features, bug fixes, and improved security, rather than have buggy old features with more security holes and no reporting.
