I have really become acustomed to the New Posts format where it will show New Posts since last visit and Unread Posts from before last visit.
Noticed a few other board don't have this option. I.e. only show new posts from last visit which can be reset within ten minutes.
is this a standard feature of the Vbulleting or one of the Mod Hacks. Anyone able to provide a link or further info so I can let others know on another board on how to configure.
Thanks

Hi
Nope, this is one thing we *didn't* hack
It's called Read Marking Type or something along those lines, introduced in vBulletin 3.5.
If you want to let your other vBulletin admins know about it, the settings controlling it are (they should understand what this means and can get more details at vbulletin.com of course)
AdminCP --> Vbulletin Options --> General settings -->
Thread/Forum Read Marking Type
Database Read Marking Limit

Hi esther,
Yeah, I know. There is a setting that will allow non-logged in users to search without having to go through that stupid image verification. I had turned it OFF recently. However, we're also trying to *enable* image verification for registration (to deter bots) and it seems that same setting needs to be ON.
Unfortunately I don't know if you can set it so you can have both, force image verification for registration, but not have it necessary for simple searching for non-logged users. I think it's a vBulletin limitation at the moment.
When we DO get image verification working for registration I was planning on seeing if it can be removed for simple searching. I can probably set it so you can search without verification for now, but ultimately we might need to enable it again, which I agree is a pain in the butt!
The vBulletin.com site itself is the same way, you can't search without logging in. Maybe if we're lucky they will fix the problem in a future version if enough people complain.
I can't access the proper settings right at the moment for other reasons, but as soon as I can I will turn that thing OFF for now.
Cheers,
K.
